If you’re in the lucky position of just being plain bored right now and have exhausted Netflix, I have put together a little list of the things I have been doing and some tips to occupy yourself while maintaining social distance.
Get active
Staying active is incredibly important for your body and your mind. Whatever activity you may choose, there will be an app for it! My favourite active pastime is yoga and I have been using the Down Dog app. You can alter the settings for the exact practice you want, and you only need something to stand/sit on so it is very easy to do!
Get creative
With all this spare time, I have decided to get back to being creative. My top activities recently have been getting back to sewing and clothes design, and making candles with old wax. Steps are to collect wax from old candles, melt the wax (we use a steamer and put the wax into a can), dip thick thread into the wax to harden, pour the wax into an old candle jar with the wick taped to the bottom, tie the wick a spoon and balance it on the top of the jar, and wait for it to cool. A fun way to reuse items and have a steady supply of candles!
Complete the wish list
There are always so many things that I want to do but feel as though I don’t have time for. I have been trying to make my way through my little list and have emptied my wardrobe in preparation for selling and donation, and have returned to reading.
Buy some plant babies
I have been loving bringing the outside in to make the house fresh and happy. I have been taking advantage of the lovely plant stores that home deliver, and also buy a plant every now and then at the organic food store on a rare trip out. Some of my favourite sites are Hello Blooms, Into the Wild, and Toast and Honey.
Stay connected
We are fortunate these days to be able to stay so connected and I have been making the most of this. Regular video chats with friends and family are a great way to check in and have a fun night with a few drinks.
What have you been doing at home? Leave your tips below!

Hi Leah,
I’ve been writing a weekly blog post with 7 activities every week that I’ve tried out. It helped me to stay sane over the last 8 weeks, so if you are looking for some inspiration here is the latest one: https://anneliesexplores.wordpress.com/2020/05/10/week-8-in-quarantine-7-things-to-do/
