How to spend a day in the Yarra Valley

Do you have a spare day and don’t know what to do in Victoria? Go to the Yarra Valley! It’s only an hour away from Melbourne and there’s so much to do and see. Here’s my guide for how to spend a day in the Yarra Valley – enjoy!

12pm

You’ve had a lazy morning and have finally made your way down to the Yarra Valley. Feeling a bit peckish? Head to the Beechworth Bakery Healesville for a quick snack or if you’re feeling a bit more fancy, go next door for a bite at Innocent Bystander.

Now that you’ve had some food it’s time for wine! Mac Forbes is a gorgeous little wine room where you can enjoy wine flights that you choose or they can put one together for you.

If you’re looking for wine in amongst the vineyards, head down to Meletos where you can enjoy their wine or a meal picked from a seasonal menu.

Now that you’ve had your fill of food and wine, it’s time for a bit of culture. The TarraWarra Museum of Art has rotating exhibitions set on the backdrop of a lovely winery. They also have a cellar door and restaurant if you are looking for a bit more sustenance!

Before you make your way back to the city, a little bit of chocolate is a must. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery has everything you could ask for from hand made chocolate to drinks and desserts.
