I had the chance to go to Santorini for under a week and I absolutely loved it. I went to Santorini about 2 years ago with my family and found that I didn’t love the island but I definitely had a different view of Santorini this time around.
We stayed just outside of Fira in Katerados which I think made a lot of difference. We were close to the town and busses so we could get around easily. There was also a Greek bakery near our accommodation where we went for breakfast every morning – kataifi and rizogalo with a frappe or freddo espresso was my daily order.
We also rented quad bikes which was heaps of fun! It’s pretty nerve-wracking driving the Greek coastal roads next to busses but it’s a good experience.
Another fun day trip was to take a boat to the volcano and sulphur springs. We got to hike up the volcano – not too difficult but definitely take water! – and swim in the springs. I didn’t swim because you had to swim through the ocean to get to the springs which was freezing and the sulphur stains bathers, but it was a great day on the boat regardless.
Taking a girls trip to Santorini was a fantastic way to spend our study break!
