Coming into July in Australia, many people begin their migration to the north for warmer weather. So I thought I’d put together a little list of the things I do to make the long haul flights more manageable!
Bring a small bag of toiletries
When you’re flying for 20+ hours it always helps to have a little bag of your essential toiletries to freshen up during or between flights. My must haves in my carry on is a toothbrush and toothpaste (try and get the little travel pack), lip balm and face wash, or makeup wipes can be more convenient.
Pack snacks
Another thing I like to do is pack a few snacks for the trip. You never know when they will serve food or if it will be any good so I think a few snacks are always good to bring. Some of my snacks include muesli bars, chocolate and mini pretzels.
Wear flowy clothes
Wearing comfortable clothes is essential on long flights. While many people go with leggings – another great idea – I tend to go with more flowy pants for a more comfortable flight. I usually pair that with a t-shirt/long sleeved top and a jumper. And I always make sure to bring warm socks too!
Always pack an extra jumper
Planes are notoriously cold and it can be incredibly uncomfortable so I always try to bring an extra, cozy jumper just in case it’s a bit chilly!
Charge electronics whenever you can
While some planes have charger spots, a lot don’t and getting through a 10 hour flights without music or entertainment can be rough. So whenever there is an opportunity to charge my phone or laptop, I take it, whether it is on the plane or finding a charging spot in the airport.
I hope these tips make any flights you might take a bit easier!
